I had a two minute conversation with a dear friend's husband the other day. I am uncertain how, within a two minute conversation, we managed to get on the subject of adult undergarments, but we did.
Seriously, never underestimate how quickly a conversation can turn.
I think it started when we were discussing the fact that A)We both were feeling under the weather, and B)There is no plan for people, as they age, that the health care community can offer us.
Well damn. When the dragon said this, I had to admit he was totally right.
But then ....
My mind immediately turned to all the stupid advertisements I have seen of late about adult diapers. Yes, I know, it is a leap, but not much of one, if you think about it. You know the ads, the ones where we are told that now - NOW - adult diapers look like slightly padded underwear. No one will be able to tell. NO ONE!
Unless you poop your pants.
Or pee.
Or both.
Then other people will smell it. And I don't see what good wearing an adult diaper that no one knows is an adult diaper is if everyone can smell what you did.
Of course, I never got to tell him that. My good friend took the phone back before I could make my somewhat disgusting point. However, I must say, it does support his theory that the world simply does not have a plan for you as you age.
Or at least not one that doesn't stink, in one way or another.
