Zeeba and I caught a brief segment of CSI tonight. One of the young guys was apparently examining clothing and cloth from an old crime scene. Zeeba, being a curious three and a half year old, asked me, "Grandmom, what is he doing?"
Possible answers flashed through my brain.
He's testing the clothes for DNA matches.
He's running forensic tests on evidence from a crime scene.
See honey, this is a show where forensic scientists solve crimes, usually murders, using scientific procedures that are new, cutting edge, and not available in non-televised police departments ...
Showing grace under pressure, I replied, "He's doing SCIENCE!!!"
We celebrated as we headed down the hall. Hooray for science!
