Busy Work

The idea of busy work first hit home for me in university. In many of my education classes, we were assigned projects that amounted to nothing more than busy work, something to do to keep our little bodies and minds in a frazzled state while we learned little that would help us in our future careers.

Now, I am being reminded again of that. The difference is I have been teaching for eighteen years, and busy work is a waste of my time. However, to keep the powers that be happy, I will jump through this flaming turd of a hoop. I will do it with a smile on my face, but if you look closely, you will see my eyes are not smiling.

Not. Even. Close.
