Another Missed Birthday

So my birthday passed by on Friday. It was nice. My family called, a friend stopped by, I received cards and such from friends, and I had an overall nice day. My birth father called me in the morning and sang Happy Birthday to me, then told me he is sending me another birthday present.

However, the one shadow on my brightest birthday ever was the silence from my birth mother. There was no phone call, no email, nothing. I am so grateful for the presence of my father, whose care and interest makes up for the lack of contact with my mother.
