I was talking to the roomie tonight, rehashing things that were but are no more. We were almost paying attention to a tennis game on the big screen, but mostly we were doing what good friends do, pretending to be interested in each other's boring lives. Next thing I know, some tennis player was wiping a lot of blood on his shirt. Blood has a way of catching a person's attention. I wondered aloud if they would stop play. The roomie, in his infinite wisdom, said blood dripping on the court was not a health hazard.
"Health hazard? I mean a safety hazard. The guy might slip and fall. Everyone knows blood is slicker than water."
