Running To Stand Still

January 31

Dad's birthday.

Enough said. *L*

February 2

Throat surgery. Leukoplakia removed from my left vocal cord. Sent for biopsy. Results in ten days.

February 3 to 9

Post Operative myalgia is kicking my ass. Actually, it is just making my muscles ache and my joints hurt.

February 8

When I woke the Tater Tot up and greeted her in my usual fashion, she replied with, "Hiya," and a totally cutie patootie grin. She is turning into a real person right in front of my eyes.

Yesterday Evening

The first night the Tater Tot slept without her soother. She has only been having it in the evenings, and now, not even that. Growing up, indeed.

This morning

The totally cute black baby jeans I bought for the Tater Tot did not fit. We tried to get them on twice. I was faced with my own inadequacies when it comes to shopping for baby clothes.

This Afternoon (circa 3:50 PM)

I drove past a small group of schoolgirls, and I briefly contemplated swerving to splash them. I horrified myself, which is kind of impressive.

This Evening

First, when it was bedtime, ONE of us decided to run around the apartment, teasing the other one by coming to the bedroom door, then tearing down the hallway laughing hysterically. That ONE is not as funny as she thinks she is, hysterical laughter or not.

Goodnight Moon & Goodnight Kisses

We have developed a new nightly routine. After I put her in her crib, I sit on the floor beside the crib, and I read her "Goodnight Moon". Well tonight, we started sharing goodnight kisses through the bars of the crib. The Tater Tot found this amazingly funny.

And now you are up to date ... enough.
