There was a song out a few years ago by a country group titled "Unusually Unusual". I think in moments that this is the perfect description for me. Even if the phrase is redundant, it fits.
This morning, I was headed out of the office with two of my co-workers. As we filed past the secretary, they each greeted her with a cheerful "Good morning!" Just to be different, I greeted her with, "Mediocre morning!" Of course I was equally cheerful, and it made the secretary laugh, which was what I wanted. Only after these goofy statements come flying out do I perhaps think they are a wee bit unusual. In the moment, they are simply .... me.
