I had this thought tonight. What if, down the road, employers start to dictate who we can marry, or partner with? No, I did not have that stroke yet, hear me out. Employers offer medical, dental, optical plans to their employees, right? What if they make it a condition of the deal that you do not marry or partner with anyone who has a pre-existing condition that will suck up insurance resources? What if, before hiring you, they check the medical condition of any partner or children?
Databases of information are being compiled daily, and it is not just weather conditions and sports stats. Every time I use my customer appreciation card at the local drugstore or grocery store, that information is stored. That means information on my prescription use is stored, as well. I do not want my purchases catalogued and tagged to me. It is creepy, Big Brotherish. Ugh.
I know before I was given a contract with my employers, I had to pass a physical. What if my partner had to pass one before they would let him be added to my insurance? Much and all as I cannot fathom that, I can.
