This Is Just Ridiculous
I understand it. I am trying to be professional about it. However, I am NOT happy about being punished along with my students.
Let me back up.
We are required to administer an end-of-year math test to our kids, who are below grade level to begin with. Add that to it being the end of the school year, and the effort my students put forth - many of whom I did not even TEACH math to this year - was less than wonderful. Their marks, which I finished today, were bad.
When I turned the marks in, my princ had a small cow. I was informed the marks were unacceptable, and my students now get to spend tomorrow re-writing these tests. They are fifteen pages in length, and we tested over a three day time span. If the students do not do 'well enough' tomorrow, they will spend Thursday and Friday working on math. The last two days of school. JFC.
Now, not only do they have to re-write these tests, I have to stay after work and mark them. Twenty-nine students, each test fifteen pages long makes for 439 pages to mark after work tomorrow.
I am decidedly UNhappy right now.
Plus, my cleaning lady did not show this weekend. I am going to have to fire her. Since she is my daughter, I am going to enjoy it more than I might otherwise.
