Wrong Finger

While shopping at a local drug store, Shoppers Drug Mart, the four year old and I availed ourselves of one of the store's shopping carts. Like so many businesses, Shoppers has added an advertising type bar to the handle. These bars are made of plastic, and have varying degrees of flexibility.

Shoppers' cart bars have NO flexibility.

None.

Zero.

Zip.

I know this because while we were shopping, I made the mistake of wrapping my left hand around this new and improved bar.

Then this happened.

My index finger was sliced open in not one but two places simultaneously. This was thanks to a jagged, broken cover on the handle of my cart. One of the cuts did not stop bleeding for more than forty-five minutes. I was so angry, and things went from bad to worse when I asked a clerk for a tissue and she was hesitant to help me!

WTF, people?

If I were the litigious type, I would sue those rat bastards. What if it had been my little girl? She has baby soft skin, being a four year old. What if she had been the one to slice her hand open?

My one regret at the moment is that the injured finger was the wrong one. If it had been the middle finger, I could show off my cut and let folks know how I really feel with one image.

Dammity.
