Fish & Chips Are Lovely

Indeed, fish & chips are wonderful. Not all fish & chips are created equal, though. There is a little restaurant in a small summer resort town about thirty minutes from my small city. It has been around forever, this small town, and has a seasonal restaurant that boasts some of the nicest fish & chips we land-locked folks can hope for on the prairies. Each year, in May, the Bluebird opens its doors, much to the delight of those of who live within its tasty range.

On Monday, my friend Charlene & I ventured forth, terribly excited about enjoying our first foray of the season at The Bluebird. Sadly, we were there two weeks early, and failed in our attempt to obtain the aforementioned meal. Not to be completely thwarted, we returned to town to forage at a local fish eatery. While the fish was not as good as what The Bluebird offered, I did discover a wondrous treat after the meal.

And that is why this post about fish and chips is sporting a photo of lemon meringue pie.
