One Of Those Days

Have you ever had one of those days where you just want to stay in bed? Where burrowing under the covers and wishing the world away for a while would be perfection? My day started that way. Sort of.

Still recovering from my wretched MRI experience, I woke up with a burning in my left shoulder that felt like someone had been inserting a hot poker into my arm while I slept, and had removed it only moments before I woke up. In that moment, I was certain it was the removal of that hot poker that had awakened me.

Then, I felt a stirring behind me. Snuggled into my back, there was Amadea, zonked out *L*. She knows she is not supposed to sleep in my bed, but those few mornings when she wakes before me, she never fails to sneak in, snuggle up, and crash again. While it is not something I encourage, it was a nice feeling to wake up to, and eased my anxiety over my shoulder.

I crawled out of bed to grab a shower, leaving her sleeping. Just as I was about to step into the shower, she comes toddling in, pulling off jammies and babbling about naked grandmas and showers. So, we showered together. Well, I showered then left her playing in there while I got dressed and gathered up her clothes. I knew I had limited time before having to play Naked Baby, a game Amadea herself invented. In this game, she crawls out of the shower or tub naked as a jay bird, and proceeds to careen around the condo yelling, "NAKED BABY! AHHHHHH!" Sometimes she mixes it up by yelling, "NAKED AMADEA!! WHEEEEEEE!" but you get the point. And sure enough, we played that game.

The day only got better from there. Work was a relief today, and I only had a half day, so that was great! I worked out - YAY ME! - then it was off to the optometrist. Even BETTER news there. The vision in my left eye - the one that is so damaged by keratoconus - has improved by a line and a half! The doctor cannot explain it, which is fanfreakingtastic! HaHAAA! I love confusing medical professionals, and yes, I have done it before.

And then ... Hola! Yeah, it is one of those days. One of those very good days.

:)
