My chiropractor called me Twitchy yesterday. Yes, you heard me correctly, he called me Twitchy. To add insult to injury - no pun intended - he is the reason I was twitching. It was allllll his fault.
I injured the muscles in my right shoulder and back, and have been seeing Ryan - my chiropractor - for acupuncture and alignment to set me to rights. He is a GREAT chiro, and the acupuncture really does work. Yesterday, when I arrived in his office, he needled me in the neck, shoulder, back and arm. He followed that up with hooking electrodes to some of the needles. He sends pulses to some of the needle points to stimulate an area, which sometimes hurts and sometimes doesn't. He lets me determine how much or little pulse I want at the needle site.
Except for yesterday. He had an electrode hooked up to one of the needles in my back, and he cranked the pulse on it. This did not hurt me one little bit, but it did make the right side of my body twitch rhythmically. It was a somewhat unnerving sensation, but it was helping. Ryan stepped out of the office for a moment after hooking me up, and when he came back, he said, "So, how's it going there, Twitchy?"
Even with my face planted on the bed, I was able to muster some indignation. "Did you just call me TWITCHY?!?"
His reply?
"Oh heck yeah!"
LMAO! Ryan is a young chiro, but very good at what he does. I trust him to take care of my aches and pains. He never does needless chiro on me, which makes me trust him even more. He mixes it up depending on what I need. Usually it is acupuncture, but sometimes it is ultrasound, others it is massage, or adjustment. I know that if anyone can figure out what is wrong and what needs to be done, it is Ryan. I do not have that sort of faith in most health care professionals.
Although, none of them have ever called me Twitchy.
