Indian Summer

I love this time of year. The leaves are changing colours, fall is here, and it is lingering, not being shoved aside by winter. I love the colours of fall. The pallete is breathtaking, reminding me how great it is to be alive each and every day. The air is crisp yet warms up nicely during the day. The sun is warm on the skin, the days bright and cheerful. I like to sit on the steps of the school during breaks, feeling the sun on my skin, warming me. If I concentrate, I can feel my hair warming up too.
I am trying to focus on the simple pleasures, the small kindnesses. I am looking to the world outside my door rather than to the world inside a box, and I am liking it. I may not fit in the world quite properly, but I am enjoying my place there.
