Christmas Concert
I have been sick with a fever and the flu for several days. I dragged my munk butt to work today for a couple of reasons, the main one being the Christmas Concert at my school tonight, the other reason being that my students almost killed my PTR - Professional Teacher Replacement - which is my fancy term for a sub.
The best concert performance any class of mine put on was two years ago, when I was in charge of all the senior students - almost 90 students - and I taught them a dance performance similar to 'Stomp'. No singing, no real dancing, no play. Just a great rhythmic performance that wowed students, staff, and families alike. We worked on it for an hour a day, five times a week, for six weeks. There were moments I wanted to kill me, the students, or my princ, who was the one to suggest I do this.
When all was said and done, however, it was pretty damn cool. In sync, in style, impressive. I did that.
Not bad for a chipmunk who has no dance training at all, and no real rhythm. :o)
